11th-Annual Young At Art Teen Recycled Fashion Set for November 18, 2016
Teens Promote Sustaining the Environment with Original, Runway Fashion Designs

DAVIE, Fla. – Young At Art Museum’s 11th-Annual Teen Recycled Fashion Show: Tech Restyled! will be held on Friday, November 18 at 7 p.m. at the Museum, 751 S.W. 121 Avenue in Davie. Proceeds from the event will support Young At Art’s Teen Volunteer Program and its Girls ‘N Power initiative serving at-risk teens attending Pace Center for Girls in Broward County.
Hosted by Kelly Blanco from NBC 6, this event will be highlighted by a NYC-style runway show, interactive art stations, nail art bar provided by Kaizen Beauty Academy, open bar provided by Ron Barcelo, and entertainment provided by Dance South Florida. A silent auction featuring items from American Girl, Blue Martini, Southwest Airlines, Paragon Theater, the, Miami Heat and Cirque du Soleil and many more will be available for bid.
Designers for Tech Restyled! include girls from Young At Art Museum's Teen Volunteer Program and its Girls ‘N Power initiative, a self-esteem building program conducted at the PACE Center Broward. The event challenges each participant to design an original garment, from concept to wearable art, made from recycled and repurposed materials and research the materials they use to better understand their environmental effects on society.
This year's teen designers will draw inspiration from both the Museum's featured exhibition, Hi-Tech/Lo-Tech, An Exploration of the Ever-changing Relationship between Art and Technology and Cirque du Soleil’s Steampunk”-inspired production, Kurios..
